This detached house is situated in the hamlet of Harlyn Bay, one of Cornwall’s best beaches with a surf school, pub and shop all just yards from the sand in this idyllic spot. Harlyn Bay is just outside Padstow but feels a million miles away nestled into the sandy cove on a quiet lane that hugs the shoreline. The pub is famous locally and a great spot to enjoy a local beer or delicious food after a day on the beach or in the surf. Golf courses are abundant if you fancy a round with the Trevose course being just minutes’ away. Trevibban Mill, a local vineyard, is a great spot for lunch and a bottle of local wine for that alfresco barbecue on the beach as the sun sets.
Padstow with its fishing history and culinary presence is a vibrant coastal town with a bustling harbour side which is lined with bars, shops, cafés and restaurants, many famously owned by Rick Stein. Padstow has other excellent places to dine for all tastes from the excellent pasty shops to the high end dining experience. For the more energetic or just to work off that ice cream, this is the start of the Camel Trail which is a flat, multi-use trail that hugs the shore of the Camel Estuary with bike hire available in Padstow or nearby Wadebridge. Cycle or walk the trail from one town to another along this pretty shoreline. If you bring your own bicycles these can be stored in the garage. From the harbour you can organise deep sea fishing trips or sightseeing trips around the bay, you might be lucky enough to see dolphins and seals. A ferry crosses the estuary to Rock, a pretty little seaside village with sailing and windsurfing opportunities. If you can drag yourself away from this idyllic corner of Cornwall then the south coast, with its balmy climate and home to many sub-tropical gardens such as Eden project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Caerhays, is easily reached. Charlestown, a regular TV set and home to tall ships is a must, and Newquay with its surf culture and vibrant bar scene is a short drive west along one of the countries prettiest coastal roads. Surfing, horse riding, golf, sailing, cycling and health spa’s are all available locally. Beach 75 yards. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
All is us, aged 5 to 70, loved our week at Trevoyne. The sea views from the house were wonderful. House is spacious and well equipped. Our boys loved the games room and the wet suits/surf boards! Great location and easy walk to the beach.
House in wonderful location, very spacious but let down by less than adequate cleanliness (needs a real deep clean ) and the beds were the worst we have ever slept in. We have been coming to Cornwall for 25 years. Resulting in poor sleep for the week. New beds and lots of TLC would make this house super. Amend all the above and we would return.
Beautiful location. House was lovely and spacious. Beds are really bad. They are so hard we all ended up with back ache, also they are not double they are 3/4 beds so not much room. Apart from that excellent. Why I only graded 5 for value for money. The house needs a bit of TLC. Needs painting. Would book again if beds were changed.
A lovely place that just needs some work. Everything needs a bit of an upgrade, especially the kitchen equipment eg pans, utensils, knives. Plenty of space in the house, we had a party of 7 and didnt feel like we were on top of each other. Excellent location with beautiful views.
Fantastic holiday, beautiful location. Cottage needs attention in places but this didn’t detract from the overall experience.
Others reviews are correct: very hard beds, a bit grubby in places; needs painting and a bit of TLC. Location is excellent - really close to a lovely beach. The nearest pub is not very appealing
Double beds could be improved and made king size. Overall decoration could be improved, but not that bad really. Living space could be improved by knocking kitchen and dining room into one. However, none of this detracts from a great house in a great location, and wonderful welcome with the welcome box!!
We had a lovely week away. The location was good. The house however needs a bit of TLC -It needs a lick of paint in places, and it was a bit grubby in places. The patio doors from the bedroom were very hard to open. The beds were small, and should be bigger and more comfortable (they are very hard mattresses) and one room had a broken headboard. The upstairs shower does not have very good pressure and was not powerful. The garden balcony needs some better seating, and the BBQ was filthy and old. Also the garden washing line was falling over and broken. It was a good holiday and we would go back if some of the issues were addressed. It is also a shame that the Harlyn Bay pub will be closing at the end of this summer 2019, and will be shut for a couple of years whilst being rebuilt into apartments and a new shop and pub.
Absolutely loved our visit. It was the best equipped house we have been to and lovely and close to the beach, the coastal path and the pub. Beautiful views from the balcony and French doors in 3 rooms made it lovely and airy. My only slight complaint was the beds were a bit small and uncomfortable
We had a wonderful week with a family of 7, ages from 23-73, great house, really perfect for us with 2 dogs, utility room really useful, garden good and secure, location amazing, we had everything we wanted, we did have a problem with the showers, but called maintenance and got sorted, although unfortunately for us 2 days before we left, only other gripe, the table tennis in garage was not possible as very dusty, and beds are small doubles so would have been nice if bigger, but all in all a good spacious house
excellent upside house with views over the sea, very spacious, really dog friendly.the beds were a little firm but some people like that .would certainly book again.
Nice holiday home. Needs a little updating. Very quiet.
Had a good holiday at Trevoyne. The location was great for walking on the beach, coastal walks. The garden was very secure for our dogs. However, we had a few issues:-Arrived Saturday, none of the T.V.s were working properly and also the shower cubicle doors in the downstairs en-suite was broken, being heavy glass, could be dangerous. We tried to contact Flint Management, and also the out of hours number, which just said unavailable. Over the week, we tried about six times , with no success. We even tried the owner, it just went to a voice box number. We found the double beds small and very uncomfortable. The bannister on the stairs was very dirty. General maintenance was poor.
Very spacious, well equipped house. Easily accommodated 8 of us plus a dog. Have everything we needed the games room in the Garage was a bonus. Lovely décor and views we had a lovely weekend. Would definitely visit again.
Our stay January, 2020
Fantastic location. The only criticism would be very uncomfortable beds, which could also do to be larger.
