Tregella Farm Cottage is lovely, cosy, converted barn, set around a central courtyard in the depth of the Cornish countryside, providing the prefect base from which to tour, explore and roam around this stunning part of Cornwall. The property is located near Padstow, a jewel in the crown for Cornwall, with its many attractions such as the pretty, quaint working harbour surrounded by meandering lanes full of local shops, bars, restaurants and cafés. The working harbour provides sea fishing and sightseeing trips along the coast and along the River Camel which flows inland towards the market town of Wadebridge. Many of the cafés and restaurants are owned by the TV chef Rick Stein including a patisserie, deli and cookery school where you can book lessons. The River Camel is a tidal estuary that flows inland from Padstow and has a flat, multi-use walking, cycling and horse riding trail that hugs the shoreline. You can hire bikes all along the trail and enjoy the ride. A favourite with the locals is to hire a bike in Wadebridge and cycle towards the sea and enjoy fish and chips from Rick Stein’s chippy before heading back.
Port Isaac, the setting and the location of TVs Doc Martin, is a great place to visit, and you may even see the stars filming the latest series. Newquay, home to the UK’s Surf Industry, is within minutes and the many excellent beaches that the town is famous for provide all you need from hire to lessons. The town also has a zoo, cinema and trampoline centre . This area is also abundant with golf courses from Trevose, The Point, St Enedoc and Merlin, all within a short drive. The Eden Project, Tintagel Castle and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are all nearby and all easily reached. Horse riding, sailing, walking and health spas are all available locally. Beach 2¾ miles. Shop 1 mile, pub 2 miles and restaurant ½ mile.
Just back from a great week staying in No 1 Tregella Farm Cottage. The cottage is part of a small complex located in a very peaceful rural location yet only a 5 minute drive to the nearest supermarket and 7 minutes into the heart of Padstow. We found it warm and homely, the welcome pack was much appreciated after a long journey and the information regarding heating, bins etc was very clear. This was one of the best equipped holiday homes I have stayed in with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The accommodation is very flexible and would suit either 2 couples or a family. The small garden is perfect with mature screening from the neighbours and it catches the sun all day.
Cottage was very disappointing. It needs to be completely modernised. Desperately needs new kitchen and bathrooms. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and far too low. If it hadn't been for the lovely weather, which meant we were out all day every day, we would have come home early.
A comfortable cottage with everything needed. Quiet, countryside area and close to beautiful beaches and villages. Delightful small and secure garden for our dog.
We enjoyed staying here, we’ll located for lots of good beaches, lovely and quiet. Nice sunny outside space.
Lovely, cosy and very well equipped cottage. Lots of amenities around and about. Padstow a mile and a half away, perfect.
Our stay January, 2020
Clean but not spotless. Great views. Quiet. Would come again
