Attached to the owners’ home but set on a very quiet road, this ground floor apartment is minutes from Padstow harbour and has its own private enclosed courtyard. This is a great place to stay in this pretty coastal town on Cornwall’s stunning north coast. A short walk will bring you to the centre of all the action in this bustling fishing village. Padstow, home to Michelin starred restaurants, local pubs, great cafés, local shops and galleries that line the pretty harbour, has it all, from beaches to cycle trails and fishing trips on one of the day boats that leave the harbour.
Padstow is also home to Rick Stein’s culinary empire, including restaurants, delis, cafés, a cookery school and a fish and chip shop, which is at the start of the Camel Trail, an off road, multi-use trail that follows the shoreline of the River Camel as it flows inland to Wadebridge and Bodmin. You can hire bikes to enjoy this flat trail and enjoy a lunch or ice cream in the pretty town of Wadebridge.
For a great day out, catch the ferry from the quayside and cross the mouth of the estuary to Rock, a favourite with the Royals. Then walk along the golden sand and join the coast path for a stroll to Daymer Bay, which is the home of St Enedoc Church, the final resting place of Sir John Betjeman. If you’re feeling energetic, follow the coast path into Polzeath for a drink on a terrace overlooking the beach.
Port Isaac, the location for the TV series Doc Martin, is easily reached and a great day out, you may even see some filming. Newquay, with its vibrant surf culture and numerous beaches, Bodmin, the gateway to the dramatic moors, and Tintagel, the legendary home to King Arthur with its imposing castle, are all easily reached from this comfy and cosy apartment. There are also many excellent golf courses nearby, along with great spas for that relaxing special treatment. Beach 1 mile. Shop 800 yards, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
We had a great time and enjoyed the place. A wonderful, cosy, and clean place highly recommended for the stay in Padstow. A decent walking distance from the harbour and all the great places to visit and enjoy.
We had a fantastic stay at the honey pot 10/10
Lovely place, light and airy with a small decking area to sit out on. Well equipped with everything you need for a week and a nice welcome basket with jam, scones and cream for a cream tea. Convenient location for Padstow with a park and ride nearby if you don’t want or can’t do the hill up and down. Lots to do in Padstow and surrounding area.
Our stay August, 2019
This was not a cottage but a garage conversion on a housing estate.whilst it was clean and modern, and the owners left a welcome pack, space was a problem. For instance settee too near television and radiator to near bathroom door. No view at either end of holiday let. The bedroom overlooked driveway and back of owners van, and lounge end doors opened to “courtway” fencing. You could walk into town through an estate and the back of allotments which will take you about fifteen minutes.
