Wander around St Mawes Castle, sit and watch the world go by eating an ice cream or a freshly made crab sandwich. Nearby is Veryan famous for its round houses and quaint village and the small village Porthscatho all worth a visit. If you enjoy walking you will be spoilt for choice, there is the Vague Walks along the valley and River Fal it is an easy trail, or from Veryan walk to Nare Head and Portloe. Circular walks around the Roseland cover both sides of the peninsular around Dodman Point and Portloe, there are 13 to choose form ranging from easy-moderate so bring your walking boots. If you are after a more sedate holiday, why not look around one of the beautiful gardens, Trewithen, Treglyn and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The famous Eden Project at St Blazey is 30 minutes away, the World’s largest greenhouses which nestle in a giant 50 feet deep crater. Walk through the tropical rainforest up to the giant waterfall, or the Warm Temperate Biome, explore the area outside, stop at the café for refreshment and then loiter in the shop looking at the selection of plants and gifts for sale. Truro is the capital city of Cornwall and is 7¾ miles away known for its stunning cathedral, cobbled streets and wide selection of restaurants, cafés and bars and having regular shows at the Hall for Cornwall.
