This delightful, terraced, Grade II listed, upside down barn conversion, with far reaching views across Cornish countryside, is the ideal setting for a peaceful getaway yet is located within easy reach of the surfing beaches of Widemouth Bay and Bude. Within a small courtyard of barn conversions, Treetops has a spacious first floor living area with large double height windows where you can sit on the window seats and soak up the views. The pretty rear garden is ideal in which to enjoy an alfresco supper and plan your next day exploring this glorious location.
Peacefully located within the lovely village of Whitstone on the Devon/Cornwall border, there is a well-equipped village store/P. O. and café/lounge bar just a short walk away for all the daily essentials. It is ideally placed to visit both Devon and Cornwall’s tourist attractions, and the award winning coastal resort of Bude is approximately 8 miles away. Incredibly popular all year round, Bude has an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafés, and retains its Victorian charm whilst offering something for everyone. Most of Bude’s beaches are great for surfing, kite surfing, sea kayaking, fishing or just for rock pooling.
The Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club is one of Cornwall’s finest courses and is just 9 miles away. Coastal and country walks, tennis, horse riding, surfing and fishing are also all on offer in the area. If you can manage to drag yourself away, then the pretty fishing villages of Padstow, Port Isaac and Rock are well worth a visit, whilst mystical Tintagel, with its castle linked to the legend of King Arthur, is close by along with numerous National Trust properties. The wild beauty of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin moors are a must for walkers and nature lovers. For families, visit Crealy Theme Park and Resort, Newquay Zoo and the famous Eden Project, are all within easy driving distance. Beach 6 miles. Village store/PO ½ mile, pub 3 miles and restaurant 4 miles.
Lacking Wifi. Larger screen TV would be good as the huge windows and room tend to dwarf the current one. Also, the TV volume does sporadically cut out for a split second. These are minor points and would not deter a second visit. The location is very central to many points of interest (Bude, Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Padstow, Newquay, Eden Project, to name but a few), and generally not much over an hours drive to visit them. The local shop is very good, staffed with helpful, happy people. The accommodation itself was superb and we had no issues with it at all. It was clean, tidy and very well presented. Oak lane does tend to get busy at 08:30 and 15:00 hrs due to school run, so be aware. Our little boy was sad to leave Treetops and thoroughly enjoyed the good selection of games in the games box, especially 'Mastermind', so thank you for that. :) The view over the countryside at the rear from garden and windows is great, regardless of the weather!

Could do with a larger tv
