You will find Beech Cottage set in a courtyard with two other cottages at Carpenters Tinney. The cottage offers couples or a family, a nice cosy cottage away from the hassle of everyday life. The property is located on the Devon and Cornwall border just 8 miles inland from Bude and within the grounds is the River Tamar, the border between Devon and Cornwall.
Carpenters Tinney is a small holding at the end of a tree-lined drive, where you will have 11-acres to explore, relax and unwind. There is a large garden where you can meet the animals and wander down to the bottom fields, a natural environment where you can sit and watch the wildlife. You can even have a go at fishing from the riverbank. Carpenters Tinney is an ideal place to switch off and re-energize.
The gated decking area with the shared, heated, outdoor 5m swimming pool is located just outside the courtyard. A hot tub is available for the ultimate treat but as this may not appeal to everyone, it is at an extra charge. You have your own sitting-out area, and in the courtyard there is a small stone barn where there are toys, body boards, wind breaks and even buckets and spades that you can borrow.
Use of the owners’ washing machine is available at cost. One small/medium sized dog is welcome and there is an allocated area for your dog to be let off the lead.
If you wish to be active, the cottages are not far from the beaches of Bude and Widemouth Bay, ideal for surfing, bodyboarding, building sandcastles and crabbing. Water sports and additional fishing are available at Tamar and Roadford Lakes. Horse riding, golf courses and cycle trails are nearby, and there are some lovely walks along the coast, or you could even venture onto Dartmoor.
The cottage is a good base for the Cornish and Devon coastline; you can get straight onto the main routes to Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac, or you can continue all the way to Penzance and Land’s End. Or head north along the coast to Hartland where you can see the Isle of Lundy, travel on to Clovelly, Westwood Ho!, Lynton and Lynmouth. This location also offers easy access to the south coast as you can reach The Eden Project, St Ives, Polperro and Plymouth all in about an hour.
There are a number of places to visit nearby, including National Trust properties, gardens, wildlife parks, theme parks and steam railways, something for everyone. The cottage is rural so you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside, but the nearest shop 2¾ miles, pub and restaurant 4¼ miles.
