A peaceful escape, The Granary sits amidst glorious countryside within the grounds of the owner’s home. The buildings date back to the 16th century, and The Granary has been converted from the former cider and grain store to create a pretty ‘upside-down’ style, detached holiday cottage. Situated in a quiet, rural location and just 4 miles from the historic town of Launceston and 2 miles from the A30 making touring this glorious area a breeze. Trethorne golf course is just 1 mile away, and Launceston golf club is 5 miles. Fishing nearby. Shop 4 miles, pub 2 miles.
The Granary is in a lovely rural setting. Positioned on a old dairy farm of approx 10acres with is own lake. The accommodation is lovely, fully equipped for all you would need with a handy utility room, complete with a games room. Clive and Sarah are perfect hosts who welcomed us and gave us a tour of the grounds. They provided so many lovely touches. Goodies for cream teas, eggs fresh from their hens, as well as milk, tea and coffee. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here
Its a lovely cottage very comfortable ,cosy, nice scenery close to perfect spots and nice locations, shops, restaurants! we had an amazing time! On arrival scones, jam, clotted cream were waiting for us and on top of this organic, fresh delicious eggs!
We have just returned from a lovely weekend at The Granary. The cottage is so comfortable and homely, immaculate and equipped with everything you can think of. No problems with Wifi. We spent a lovely afternoon fishing in the owners private lake which the children loved - and was so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. We would also recommend the local adventure park 'Hidden Valley' which was great for our older kids with lots to keep them entertained. The owners were very friendly and very welcoming with fresh scones and eggs waiting for us on arrival. The whole weekend was perfect and we would happily stay all summer!
We really enjoyed our stay here, a warm welcome for us and our dog, and this was just the tranquil location we were hoping for. We particularly liked the comfortable upstairs living area. Our teenage sons loved the games room, and everyone enjoyed the pond with the peace and the wildlife. We had no need of shops and restaurants so can't really comment on this, our favourite day out was walking on Bodmin with the tors, standing stones and herds of ponies with foals.
Our stay October, 2019
We had a very nice welcome from Clive and a lovely Cream Tea was waiting for us. Nothing seemed any trouble fr our hosts. The cottage was very well equipped and the games room was a very effective added bonus
