A super little cottage, and something rather special, tucked away in the rolling countryside, just 2 miles from the historic market town of Launceston, and just a short walk from the New Mills Farm Park. This cosy single-storey cottage adjoins the friendly owner’s home, has its own private enclosed lawned garden and a cosy wood burner in the living room to snuggle up in front of. There are two bedrooms, plus a lovely double bedroom annexe with an en-suite in a delightful separate barn, just across the lawn. Perfect for those families or couples who like their own private space whilst still holidaying together. The property also has use of a small paddock, ideal for children to play in or for exercising your dog. The ancient capital of Cornwall and often known as the Gateway to Cornwall, Launceston boasts a 13th-century castle, many independent shops and museums. Beach 16 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
Lovely cottage in a rural location. This is not far from the supermarket. Excellent base to travel to different places
Wonderful place. Justin the host was dead good. Nothing was too much. Lovely inside and dead clean. Kids couldn't escape. Childrens play area. Highly recommended
Very friendly owners, cottage was perfect and very pet friendly. Very well equipped and lots of local shops five minute drive away. Due to location phone signal was very poor and WiFi only really worked in small bedroom but was actually nice to not have phones going every few minutes.
We spent a lovely week in this beautiful cottage, had everything you needed. It was spacious and clean and very well maintained. The owners were very nice and the baked bread on arrival was a nice touch! The piggery was stunning and we wished we had told our eldest son he couldn't stay in there!!
Great property, excellent enclosed garden for dogs, all well equipped ,outdoor play area for children and friendly owners.
Great cottage with secure garden for dog. Good location with lots to visit. If you walk down the hill you can get on a narrow gauge steam railway to Launceston and there's a children's play area and farm too at Newmills. Will definitely go back to this cottage. Justin made us feel very welcome. Had everything we needed in cottage and annex. Well equipped, clean and comfortable.
This has to be the best holiday cottage we have ever had - and we have had a few!! Everything you could possibly need during a holiday was available - washing machine and a dishwasher plus tablets, clothes line, pegs, air drying rack and all the necessary kitchen implements - definitely home from home. The extra touches such as dishwashing tablets, hand soap, shower and shampoo items were lovely - (that is usually what you have to buy as soon as you arrive at a cottage). The Cottage and Piggery were both very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed having meals in the very peaceful, beautiful garden at the patio table. We were extremely grateful for the bread and milk on arrival and would like to thank Justin and Denise for a lovely base for a super holiday in Cornwall. I am just sorry that we live so far away that the chances of coming back to Cornwall are slim, but if we did this cottage would certainly be our first choice. Thank you.
We loved our week at Apple Cottage. It was spacious, very clean and comfortable, the double bed was super comfy and it was superbly equipped. We would recommend it highly.
Lovely place to spend a week. Nice enclosed garden for our dog. Very well equipped and clean cottage. Quiet peaceful location. Just a shame we couldn't control the Cornish weather.
Just enjoyed a lovely week at apple cottage, there was enough room to accommodate 6 of us and a dog. Justin was a great host, couldn’t do enough for you. The flowers, milk and fresh home cooked bread were a lovely touch. I had the pleasure of staying in the piggery for the week and it’s been done to such a high standard, it was perfect! We would definately recommend it to. Thanks again to Justin for an amazing week!
We had a lovely holiday at Apple Cottage, the cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The garden was beautiful and very secure for our two Golden Retrievers. Jason was very welcoming but left us alone to enjoy our holiday. We would love to return. The only downside, if there is a downside is we had to drive quite a way to visit beaches etc. But on the other hand if it’s peace and tranquility you are looking for it’s ideal - perfect in fact.
will definitely book Apple Cottage again
Really enjoyed our stay here. Perfect holiday for our family in a beautiful, comfy cottage.
Even though the weather was awful, we were extremely cosy and looked forward to returning every afternoon
I booked Apple Cottage as it was described as "more than dog friendly", unfortunately it the complete opposite, a dog bowl is not what I would class as more than dog friendly. Unfortunately we went during storm Dennis & the weather was rather wet, admittedly my dogs did mess up the garden, but the owner told me that the dogs were not allowed in the garden anymore & I had to excerise them up the lane, which meant that they couldn't be let off. Due to this, we then didn't enjoy the rest of our holiday & couldn't wait to go home. I sorted the garden out, before we departed. The radiator in the bedroom off the kitchen wasn't working, but luckily my eldest daughter couldn't come so my youngest stayed in the Piggery. The door handle fell off a couple of times as the door was quite stiff to close. Although there was Wi-Fi in Apple Cottage there was none in The Piggery and there was no network coverage. Which had this of been mentioned in the description, at the time of booking. We would not have chosen this property.
Lovely clean, quiet cottage with excellent hosts. Setting ideal for travel to all areas of Cornwall. Added bonus of separate ‘piggery’ for additional privacy. Would (and have) recommend and visit again.
Our stay November, 2019
We've just enjoyed a lovely stay at Apple Cottage. Justin is the perfect host in that he is there if you need him but he's not intrusive. He'd left a freshly baked loaf of bread and milk on our arrival which was very much appreciated. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The Piggery was a nice quirky feature and is set up so it's self contained. Apple Cottage is a good base for travelling out to the moors and beaches. It was very rainy when we were there but in better weather I'm sure the pretty garden would have been a lovely place to sit. A lovely place to stay.
