A delightful 17th-century cottage, tucked away off the beaten track, right on The Camel Trail and in the little picturesque hamlet of Hellandbridge just a stones throw from the River Camel. The famous Camel Trail is a fabulous 18-mile cycle and walking route from Bodmin to Padstow.

Shop, pub and restaurant 3½ miles.
Been lots of time love the cottage so peaceful.
Very nice cottage in a great location. Good garden for the dogs, but not totally secure. Large, well equipped and comfortable. Just a few niggles that would be easily resolved and make all the difference: 1. No hand soap (which had been noted previously). 2. No oven instructions and when we called the agent he wasn't very helpful. One issue was that the oven was switched off at the wall and the clock needed to be re-set. We found instructions ourselves on google. Other electrical appliances where left on so it would help to leave the oven on also. 3. The information booklet stated that some cleaning products were available but there were none. 4. The information booklet was shabby and out of date (which had been previously noted). 5. There was only one extra black sack. We managed, but a party of six would not. 6. There are no recycling facilities which we found incredible. 7. We tried to use the vacuum but it was broken and difficult to use. 8. The windows were dirty. 9. The en-suite had dirt and mould on the vanity unit, tiles and ceiling. Not luxury!
A fantastic holiday had by all. A beautiful cottage and garden that was well equipped and in a beautiful location. Would definitely stay again.
We had a great time
A very homely feel to this cottage. Lots of seating and good to have two rooms so people could separate if they wanted a quiet corner! Beds weren't very comfortable. We were a family of three generations - the grandparents nabbed the master bedroom because it was easier for them to have the walk-in shower rather than climb over the bath in the main bathroom. Mum and Dad of the group had the second double room - although not small, it did feel as though we'd got "second best" with the smaller (cheap?) bed and limited clothes storage. Bedding was good quality though. Good range of kitchen equipment. Lovely idea to have a seat under the shaded area in the garden but it was just too mossy to actually want to use it! Would be nice to have a second bath mat - with up to 4 people using it one after the other, it was never dry!! No shaver charging point in the main bathroom. No mirror placed in a sensible position for hair-drying. A hand towel for the kitchen and downstairs toilet would be helpful. We recycle nearly everything when we are home but afraid we became very lazy during holiday - with no recycling boxes, we ended up putting everything in landfill sacks. Sorry, but when we've paid a lot of money to go on holiday, we are not looking to spend our time dealing with sacks of rubbish and travelling to recycling centres. Not enough dishwasher tablets or bin bags for a week. Your information folder REALLY needs to be completely updated, there have been so many bits changed by hand, and it is really unpleasant to handle as it's so old and grubby; such a simple change that wouldn't cost much to do! I hope you will take this as constructive rather than just grumbling - they are all minor points but it causes irritation after a week - and they could all be fairly easily improved on for future visitors. Landline phone for emergencies proved invaluable for us as one of our group unfortunately became ill during our holiday and had to stay in hospital for 3 days so good to have security of landline when mobile reception failed (but is there a problem with the phone, it was very difficult to hear people?). All in all this was a lovely cottage we were pleased to come home to and the minor issues listed above would not prevent us from coming back - it's just we don't get away much as a family during the year, that when we have our annual holiday we are seeking an absolutely perfect break!
A very tranquil spot and the Camel trail is fantastic. No local amenities but we knew that. The house is nicely appointed with everything we needed and plenty of information - a good location to get to all the different beeches.
Silverstream Cottage is lovely and the garden is a nice size. Also having the Camel Trail right near by where you can walk dogs, looking out for people on bikes and clear up after your dog. Check your dog after each walk, as there seem to be lots of ticks about...
A good location being right next to the camel trail. Nice house and well maintained throughout.
