On entering the cottage from the side courtyard brings you into the heart of this deceptively spacious period home. Wooden floors, beamed ceilings and a feature wood-burning stove add to the ambience of this delightful property. The cosy living room with stone fireplace, comfy seating and sea views offers the perfect spot to rest weary legs after a days adventure. The adjoining dining room has plenty of space for the whole family to enjoy a meal together that may have been prepared in the country style kitchen and just off the kitchen is the properties family bathroom. On the first floor are three good sized bedrooms each with its own character. The larger master bedroom with a kingsize bed offers a view over the quay along wardrobe and drawer storage. The second bedroom is a spacious room with twin beds a wardrobe and drawer storage. The third is the perfect set-up for the children with bunk beds. The outside is a private courtyard area ideal for storing surfboards or kayaks and a seating area at the front of the cottage which is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and soak up the view. There is also a parking space directly outside the cottage on the quayside.
The tranquil village of Flushing promises a relaxing escape amongst picturesque coastal surroundings. From the harbour in front of the property, a passenger ferry runs regular services between Flushing and Falmouth where you can connect to the St Mawes Ferry and in the summer months you can take the Fal Riverboat to Trebah and Glendurgan gardens and Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay. The year round dog-friendly beach at Kiln Quay is just a short walk from the property and offers superb views of Falmouth Docks the Carrick Roads and St Anthony’s Head. From the beach you can enjoy a lovely walk along the coastal path between Flushing and Mylor, with excellent ’watering holes’ at both locations. The village bowling green has a superb children’s play area with a huge pirate ship offering a space to work off excess energy in an enclosed area. The village has two excellent pubs, plus a quayside restaurant. Regular village events including a monthly produce and craft market and there is a well-stocked village store for all your essential supplies. In late July/early August the village comes alive for the Flushing Regatta Week when all kinds of events take place from rowing, swimming, sailing bathtubs and snail races, to sandcastle building, crab catching and a gala-style carnival procession through the village. Flushing is easy to reach by car and the nearest railway station Penryn connects with rail services at Truro for direct links to London Paddington in about 4 hours. Air travellers can fly from London Gatwick to Newquay.
