Flushing is a riverside fishing village across the water from Falmouth, there are two pubs, riverside beaches within walking distance and a local shop, after a busy day pop into the Royal Standard for a drink or have a meal, it is a family friendly pub with a contemporary and relaxed vibe. You can choose to just leave the car and enjoy this area which is unspoilt and so relaxing. Why not walk to Mylor another quaint harbour village with its impressive yacht marina once a naval dockyard with a spectacular church St Mylors boasting a 17 foot high Celtic Cross. There are plenty of places around for refreshment. Or catch the Flushing Ferry to Falmouth if offers a year-round passenger service.
Falmouth has a totally different feel to Flushing, cobbled streets are lined with individual shops ideal for browsing and looking for presents, a wide variety of café’s, bars, and restaurants. It is home to the National Maritime Museum a great day out, as well as stunning beaches, the largest being Gyllyngvase. Walk around the magnificent ruins of Pendennis Castle a 16th Century fort, the views are incredible from the car park, you can book for a tour of the Castle check their website for details.
From Falmouth you can catch another Ferry to St Mawes, take your car and explore this stunning area of the Roseland Peninsular, there are plenty of beaches, a National Trust site at St Anthony Head, the St Just-in-Rosealnd Church, art galleries the list goes on. This is ideal for families, walkers, water sports enthusiasts and anyone wanting to get away from the stresses of modern life. The property is not suitable for people with mobility issues due to the steps leading to the property.
