Pinewood Cottage has been substantially updated and is presented to a very good standard and provides accommodation over two floors for four people. There are two bedrooms, one double bed and twin beds, upstairs and downstairs is the bathroom, living/dining room with Smart TV and a kitchen with all you need to make your stay a comfortable and convenient. The ground floor also benefits from underfloor heating. Outside there is a small patio area and raised lawned garden where you can enjoy a drink or an al-fresco meal.
The sleepy village of Marhamchurch, with its thatch and cob cottages, has an excellent community spirit and is only a short drive from Bude or if you prefer, it can be walked via a more direct route. If it’s the beach you want with miles of sand, swimming and surf, then you’ll be spoiled for choice. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive of this cottage including Crackington Haven, Boscastle, Morwenstow and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur.
Further afield, the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination. Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited, you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the South West Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and a heritage centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants and an excellent information centre.
The cottage is also perfectly located for you to discover the many natural delights that North Devon has to offer such as Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’, the many rugged coastal towns and quaint villages such as Hartland, Lynton & Lynmouth, Ilfracombe and the world-famous Clovelly Village with their awe-inspiring scenery. There are plenty of family-oriented places to visit including Exmoor Zoo, Milky Way Adventure Park, The Big Sheep farm-themed park and many others. And if Bude’s beaches aren’t enough for you, then North Devon will leave you spoilt for choice with Saunton, Woolacombe, Croyde and Westward Ho! beaches – some of the best in the country!
