Commanding excellent sea views across the bay of St Austell from the lounge and decked patio, this attractive bungalow is set in beautiful established gardens. Adjoining the owner’s home, within a quiet Cornish village, it is just ½ mile from the white sandy beach at Par. The fishing villages of Fowey and Mevagissey are a short drive; historic port of Charlestown is 4 miles. Many facilities in the area, including 3 golf courses. The Eden Project, 7 minutes away and the mainline railway station 5 minutes’. Shop 700 yards, pub 500 yards.
Lovely comfortable place to relax and unwind. Close to railway station which allowed us to explore Cornwall and Plymouth. The bus routes are good too. Enjoyed some lovely coastal walks and Par beach is within easy reach. Very hospitable and helpful hosts. Couldn’t fault our stay.
The hosts are very friendly! They give you a warm welcome. The cottage has got nice pictures on the wall painted by the host who is a professional artist. From the wintergarten you have a view to the see.
We have just returned from a very pleasant stay at Greenhaven in Par, near St. Austell. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and Ann & Mike were very helpful and friendly hosts. We had lovely views from the conservatory at the back of the bungalow of their garden and the sea in the not too far distance. We had everything we needed and Par was within a few miles distance of Fowey, from where we took the ferry to Mevagissey on a lovely day trip, spending a few hours in Mevagissey and a few hours in Fowey when we returned. Many of the pretty little towns of Cornwall are within reach, i.e. Padstow and Charlestown (where some of Poldark was filmed) and many others. We were very lucky with the weather whilst we were there.
Thoroughly recommend very high standard everything there Anne & Mike very accommodating and nice people nothing too much trouble
excellent location and hosts.
A good, clean apartment that had just about everything you might need. The owners live on site and are helpful and friendly. The owner, an artist, has his work on display throughout the apartment and has rightly been called the 'Cornish Constable'. Their garden, which you can use, is a sun-trap. The conservatory provides views over the village and hills and an expanse of St Austell Bay. The location means north and south Cornwall are equally accessible. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. There is a pleasant pub just round the corner and 'Val's Plaice' in Par provides lovely fish and chips. We hope to return another year.
We had an excellent stay at greenhaven. The hosts are very welcoming providing some essentials for your arrival including a lovely cream tea. There is a great view from the conservatory of the sea beyond. I found I hardly used my car as Par mainline station is a short walk from the property so able to access much of Cornwall from there. There is a bus that runs on the road between megavissey and foyey which extended accessibility to a wider area. We would come back to this property again.
This is a perfect place for a couple who enjoy exploring Cornwall. The accomdation was excellent, spotlessly clean and tidy. Nothing was too much trouble for Anne and Mike, we arrived to find some homemade scones, jam and clotted cream waitiing for us, lovely!
Our stay September, 2019
after a long 7 hr drive we were greeted by the lovely hosts. They were very welcoming and Ann showed us round the cottage and how everything worked. There was an amazing cream tea waiting for us. Everything had been thought of in the property and we wanted for nothing. This is the first holiday accommodation we have stayed where the host is next door but it was fine, and to be honest we only bumped into them on one occasion whilst we were there. This has to have been one of our best holidays in this country to date. The accommodation was first class and the weather was as well. Could not recommend this cottage enough. Thank you Ann and Mike for being wonderful hosts.
