Formerly the stable and grooms’ quarters for the nearby Wellington Hotel and latterly the studio of artist Kurt Jackson, this semi-detached holiday cottage is situated at the heart of picturesque Boscastle. It’s only a 100 metre walk to the harbour, cliff walks, coastal footpath and the good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Tregullan Cottage is a charming cottage full of period features and a cosy open fire. Ideal base for exploring the North Cornish Coast; Tintagel, Port Isaac and the Eden Project are close by. Trebarwith Strand, Bossiney Haven and Crackington Haven have beautiful sandy beaches nearby and Camelford has a leisure centre and an 18-hole golf course. Fishing nearby.
BEEN TO THIS COTTAGE MANY TIMES - ALWAYS GREAT
Excellent location with good parking
Arrived just after 5 pm when we went in to the cottage the first thing that hit us was the smell - possibly damp dogs and damp. The beds in the downstairs bedroom were scruffed up and looked as though either a dog or children had been messing about. The bedding looked as it had been slept in. My wife checked the bed upstairs and found holes in the bedding and the bedding did not smell fresh. The kitchen surfaces and table were felt sticky. The was what appeared to be mud on the carpet by the downstairs bedroom. The cutlery drawer had a lot of presumably food debris in it. We felt that overall the cottage was not clean and needed a deep clean and thorough airing. Needless to say we did not unpack our clothes and did not stay in the cottage , finding accommodation close by. We have stayed in many cottages in Cornwall and have never had a bad experience until now. We cannot recommend this cottage.
Tregullan Cottage has everything you need for a perfect holiday in Cornwall, it is in a beautiful location very close to the harbour and two excellent pubs which serve very good food. The surrounding area is filled with lovely coves and beaches to explore and most places in the area are dog friendly.
This cottage COULD be stunning, but sadly it’s not! The actual cottage and it’s location are fabulous but the cleanliness of the cottage left an awful lot to be desired. My husband and I booked 3 nights at a considerable cost, and although we theoretically could have taken 4 people for this cost, we incurred an additional charge to take our dog! There were things that I would say were just dirty but the overall state of the decor was just plan grubby! The windows didn’t look as though they had been cleaned in a very long time, which may seem a silly comment to make, but the views were spoilt by this and when the sun shown they were just awful! We didn’t intend to cater in the cottage but there is no way I would have done... I could carry on, obviously people have very different ideas of what is acceptable - I sometimes read reviews and just think “Really”.... I feel that this property is being let down, maybe it’s just a business rather than a passion. In its current state sadly I could not recommend it and for what we paid it was grossly overpriced!
Absolutely loved our stay at Tregullan cottage, the location was perfect and having outdoor table was fantastic. The cottage was very good, bedrooms were nicely furnished and very clean. The kitchen wasn’t quite as good, unfortunately it wasn’t ‘sparkling ‘ clean. This wouldn’t stop us visiting again as we loved being in the middle of this beautiful village.
We have stayed in many cottages around Cornwall, with many different companies and this is the first time we arrived to find no basic's; milk, bread, butter, sugar, hand soap in the bathroom and kitchen. This meant on arriving late on Friday we had no way of making tea or coffee and had to visit the local shop first thing Saturday morning before we could even start our day. The bedding, pillow case in-particular were dirty and hadn't been changed. There was long hairs in the shower. Now the good, location of the cottage was perfect for walks and getting to various other locations. It was comfortable and well equipped.
We've booked this place SEVEN TIMES !!!!!ITS FAB!
Stayed from 7-14 June 2019. Boscastle itself is very picturesque, Perfect location for stunning costal walks minutes from the doorstep. Fabulous local amenities, Spa shop, fish & chippy, local bakery (yummy pasties and cakes ) Dog friendly pubs within minutes walk and more. Found a real gem near tintagel - Rocky Valley, so beautiful. Further afield the dramatic rocks of Hartland Quay near Bude. Tregullan cottage is perfectly located, really quaint, warm & welcoming with a traditional feel. Our Cockerpoo Harvey settled in quickly & we all enjoyed our cosy evenings in after a days walking. We’ll definitely be back.
The cottage was charming, clean and had all the equipment I needed, even a frying pan that didn't stick. The sofa was not as comfortable as I like but the arm chairs were; the bed was very comfortable. The picnic bench outside was very useful for eating my cooked breakfast each morning. In fact a perfect few days break. Only niggle was I had to bring my recycling home as no bin to dispose, not much of a problem.
The kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom were clean but there was a thick layer of dust on the mantelpiece and tv stand. There was also ash in the grate which made the cottage smell smokey on our arrival which was a shame as otherwise the cottage was lovely.
We had a fantastic week in Tregullan cottage. The surrounding area was beautiful and Boscastle itself was an ideal base with the best pasties in Cornwall. The cottage is in a brilliant location in the heart of the village with lots of local scenic walks.
Lovely little cottage and I can see that originally it was tastefully decorated. However, now it’s tired and in need of a deep clean. The window cills were dusty with dead bugs, there were several cobwebs, the toaster was covered in fat splashed from the cooker, it also was full of toast crumbs. The toilet was grubby, and the sink had hairs and other bits around the top of the sink. We had to give it a good clean before use. When leaving I picked up a cushion to puff up and put back in place. When I banged my hand on it to reshape a cloud of dust came out! It’s such a shame because it’s in a great location and I would love to stay there again.
Our stay December, 2019
Lovely cosy cottage in the heart of boscastle the cobweb inn is well worth a visit
