This beautifully renovated Grade II listed thatched cottage tucked away in the pretty coastal hamlet of Bohortha, close to St Anthony’s Head in South Cornwall. Arriving at the property you’re greeted with a pretty country cottage garden which frames the thatched roof and stone elevations perfectly. The character and charm of this holiday cottage continues as you step inside to the thoughtfully decorated and cosy living room complete with soft seating, a feature electric wood burner, beamed ceiling and window seat with a view to the front garden. Across the hall is a bright and spacious dining room flanked by charming period features. This room also has the advantage of the washing machine and storage under the stairs. Continuing to the rear of the property you’ll find the well-appointed kitchen with contemporary appliances including a Dolce Gusto coffee machine slimline dishwasher tall fridge/freezer induction hob electric oven and microwave. Completing the downstairs accommodation is the lovely modern shower room
Climbing up the central staircase to the first floor you’ll find two bedrooms the spacious master bedroom with a kingsize bed, good-sized wardrobe and drawers for storage and the second bedroom which is made up as a twin but the beds can be zip-linked together to provide a super-king bed. Both have been beautifully decorated and feature latch style doors which add to the charm of this Cornish cottage.
Step outside of the property and you’ll discover the true hidden gem of this beautiful holiday cottage - the secret garden known as "Lookout"! Take a walk along the path past the neighbouring cottages and turn left to arrive at the most surprising and stunning garden. Edged with mature trees and shrubs which offer privacy, the garden offers spectacular panoramic views from the raised "Lookout" which gives a 180-degree vista along the south coast towards the Lizard peninsula - the perfect spot to end a days adventure with a family BBQ and a glass of St Mawes G&T. Parking is in the central open area of Bohortha with a short walk to the property. *Please note there is a right of way footpath located at the front of the cottage for neighbouring property. Bohortha and Beyond Bohortha is a small unspoilt coastal hamlet in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Thatchings is located just a third of a mile from the sandy Porthbeor Beach and on the opposite of the headland you’ll find the Place Ferry which offers a foot passenger service to St Mawes. The area is a dog walkers paradise with access to several beaches and the South West Coastal Path. As well as the beach at Porthbeor you’ll find several other fine beaches close by including Towan Molunan Elwynick Cove Porthcurnick Pendower and Carne Beach. The iconic St Anthony’s lighthouse is located at the top of the headland where you’ll find spectacular sea views and an interesting walk around The St Anthony’s Battery. With the Percuil River St Mawes Harbour and Carrick Roads providing some of the finest sailing waters in the country you’ll not be short of things to do while on holiday. Bohortha is approximately 2. 5 miles from the villages of Gerrans and Portscatho where you’ll find local amenities including a village store butcher cafes pubs and restaurants for more shops; further up the Roseland the King Harry Car Ferry provides easy access to Truro and Falmouth.
