Next to the River Tamar in the picturesque sailing village of Cargreen, this semi-detached house is the ideal holiday base for those who love the waterside and boats. The bedrooms are on the ground floor and the first floor living/dining room enjoys spectacular views of yachts moored in the river and countryside beyond. Boats can be launched in the village. Plymouth, with its historic, nautical and city attractions is just 7 miles away and the beautiful Tamar Valley winds from the house through stunning country to the western fringe of Dartmoor. Shop and pub 2 miles, restaurant 3 miles.
Gorgeous location, couldn't get enough of the views. The house is the best equipped we have had yet. Kids loved the village play park. There isn't any shops or pubs in the village but you can get everything you need in a 10 minute drive. A perfect place to explore Cornwall and Devon from. Can't wait to go back.
As soon as we got there it was very relaxing the views were stunning. Very easy to get to the places we wanted to see. An ideal base for a good and relaxing holiday.
Good location and marvellous views. Facilities good but tired. Cleanliness wanting.
We loved this property- very relaxing, beautifully equipped, quiet and spacious with everything we needed. It is a little bit of a way driving down winding narrow roads to nearest shop (in Hatt, or Saltash), and sadly no local pub in Cargreen anymore. We found some walking routes from the house which was good, but some can only be done at very low water, so the OS map is slightly misleading.
Having just spent a week here with family and friends, I would happily recommend Tamar View to anyone looking for a clean, spacious, excellently equipped and maintained property with glorious views out over the Tamar Estuary. It is perfectly situated to enable visits to all parts of Cornwall, especially the Eden Project but isolated enough to be truly tranquil. We were made to feel welcome at all times and found everything we needed easily. The kitchen is extremely well equipped for self-catering and the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean with comfy beds and strong showers. All the mod cons were present and correct with lots of entertainment options and excellent quality WiFi service for the 6 of us! What more could you possibly need? We loved it!
The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. The views were beautiful. I can't recommend it because there was a problem with the structure of the building which caused loud bangs at sporadic periods during the night, starting around midnight and continuing at various hours until six am. This happened every night of our stay and we left a day early as we were tired and in need of a good sleep. A previous guest also commented on this in the visitor book and we spoke to the owner who was also aware of this. It was a great shame as apart from this it would be a perfect cottage.
Second visit. Can’t wait to return
Our stay January, 2020
I only scored local amenities low because the house is situated in a small hamlet. It doesn’t have any shops or pubs/restaurants. We new this at the time of booking. This didn’t matter to us at all. The house is lovely and we enjoyed our break so much we’ve booked to go again. January 2021 for our next crafting break.
