This delightful, second floor apartment has spectacular views over Mevagissey, the harbour and coast, and is the perfect location for families or couples looking to spend summer holidays, long weekends or wild winter breaks storm watching. You will be comfortable and cosy in this modern, light apartment. Its elevated location provides an ever changing, mesmerising view that will thrill guests whatever the season. Enjoy the wild stormy seas bashing over the harbour wall, or the more tranquil summer skies and sunsets whilst watching the colourful fishing fleet. Walk in to Mevagissey where you will find a great selection of shops, art galleries, restaurants, cafés and pubs all serving great local food and ales. There is a great choice of takeaways, should you wish to have a break from cooking. There are also regular boat and fishing trips available from the harbour.
This is the perfect location for exploring many attractions in the area, including The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and many sub-tropical gardens and National Trust properties. With miles of spectacular coastal paths, the area is popular with walkers and bird watchers. There are plenty of beautiful beaches and quaint harbours, including the famous historical harbour at nearby Charlestown, the setting for many films and TV series, including the Poldark series. A great road network allows guests to visit many different locations with ease, including the cathedral city of Truro with its cinema and theatre. There is diverse coastline to explore, from the rugged north coast, famous for its surfing beaches, to the more tranquil sailing waters of the south Cornish coast. Beach 2 miles. We have just come back from an absolutely lovely week in Mevagissey in the very lovely Penfose apartment. One you are up the stairs (internal and external) the stair gate is on and it is excellent for young families as well as those without children or older children. Beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and really lovely hosts (Heather and Chris). Very friendly and helpful. It’s a steep but short walk down to the harbour and there are lovely places to eat. The view from the window in the morning with your coffee is just wonderful, even in stormy weather. We can not recommend this place and these hosts enough and the area is lovely with lots to explore and do. It’s a really cosy and spacious apartment and we really enjoyed our stay and were very sorry to leave. Thank you for such a great welcome and cracking stay.

Such a brilliant apartment with room for everyone. Every little detail had been thought about from plenty of towels (including bathmats & extra hand towels), to well laid out, comfortable rooms (even a light in wardrobe), to an amazing view of the harbour. The photos on the website are just a glimpse of the lovely apartment. The welcome hamper was so thorough (tea, coffee, scones etc. for a cream tea and so much more) and the use of Cornish products and maps was especially good . Plenty of parking and easy to walk into the town (5 mins). The hosts Chris and Heather were really welcoming and made us feel right at home at Penfose. It made the very soggy weather all the more bearable!

Fantastic apartment. Harbour View from main room is perfect and window seat put to good use. Best welcome pack ever; homemade scones, jam and clotted cream were a real treat. The owner made us feel most welcome. It was about 10 minutes uphill from the village but it never seemed a struggle and it's the perfect place for evening stroll.

Excellent apartment with brilliant views of harbour and sea. Only a short 5 minute walk from centre, admittedly uphill but didn't find it too bad at all. Owners who live below very helpful. Lovely welcoming pack on arrival, three good walking books among books on shelves. Apartment modern and clean, very well equipped with everything. First class all round. Good choice of pubs and restaurants but some didn't appear to do food Sunday nights (not after 7.30pm anyway)!

A beautiful apartment, views over the harbour were second to none. When we arrived there were fresh homemade scones, cream and jam waiting for us along with a basket with wine, tea coffee and more. The kitchen is fully equipped, like home from home. Even laundry liquid, washing up liquid, everything. There's a large TV with sky and Netflix. Games and dvds. It accommodates 6 adults comfortably. Megavissy is very Hilly so ideally for reasonably fit people. For a small fishing village it had a lot to offer in the way of food, pubs and unique shops. Heather, the owner was so accommodating, friendly and went out of her way to help us when needed. We would highly recommend. Thank you again Heather and Chris.

A truley wonderful place to stay. Very kind owners who made us feel very welcome. The views are utterly spectacular from the apartment! The apartment is situated in a very peaceful area surrounded by lots of lovely places to eat and shop. I would recommend Penfose Appartment to anybody and we will defiantly be back! Well worth the 8 hour drive from County Durham.
