Nestling close to the base of Tregonning Hill and only 2 miles from the large sandy beach at Praa Sands, this delightful semi-detached bungalow has panoramic seascape views from the living room and kitchen, which stretch towards the ancient seaside town of Marazion and St Michael’s Mount. Attached but totally separate from the owner’s adjoining property, Merriview is a traditionally furnished and very welcoming property with an ornamental fireplace, and it provides the perfect base from which to explore this glorious part of Cornwall. The property also features a large garden with a lawn, shrubs and a sheltered patio to the rear. The nearby small village of Ashton offers a friendly pub serving food and a part-time community shop selling a few essentials, and within 5 miles is the market town of Helston and the fishing port of Porthleven, offering a choice of shops, a wonderful array of restaurants and cafés to suit all budgets and tastes. Close to the South West Coastal Path, Merriview is excellent for keen walkers. There are also the Cornish Mining Trails nearby, perfect for exploring the local history at any time of the year. Beach 2 miles. Shop and pub 2 miles, restaurant 3 miles.
Have been here 4 times and love it. Will almost certainly return.
Wonderful peaceful location, well equipped, however the larger windows are locked shut so only able to open quarter windows, this makes the bungalow very hot and stuffy! Housekeeping needs to be addressed as the whole place was very dusty and musty, you could have written your name in them amount of dust on the sideboard!!
Our stay October, 2019
Looking forward to our return next year, all being well. If you want quiet, Merriview is quiet.
