Originally built in the 1790s as a corn mill and hay loft, it is now an exquisite holiday retreat boasting a games room with pub-style pool table and full size table football. Oozing contemporary flair, this boutique home offers complete tranquillity. Nestled between the moorland villages of St Neot, Mount and the beautiful wooded valley of Cardinham, it is within a short driving distance of many of Cornwall’s fabulous attractions. The area is popular with cyclists who will enjoy the Bodmin Beast Trial, a 12-mile off-road mountain bike trail at Cardinham woods. There is something for everyone: children and adults, not forgetting a great selection of local pubs and fine dining restaurants. Remarkable attention has been taken at every corner to ensure that all the character and charm of the original features have been retained, including exposed beams and stone walls. Designed with sustainable tourism in mind, it is the overall winner of the Environment 2020 Bosch Worcester Awards for the innovative use of solar panels and ground source heat pumps. Sit with a glass of wine whilst enjoying the landscaped garden with large decked patios, al fresco dining, croquet and bowls on the lawn. Whether guests choose to snuggle up on one of the large sofas by the log fire or enjoy a BBQ overlooking the moors, they are in for a real treat. Afterwards, they can slip into the large, double-ended bath and indulge themselves with complimentary L’Occitaine body and hair products and wrap up in one of the bath robes! Lower Trevorder Barn - Reviews

Lovely accommodation. Great for a winter weekend and I imagine the outdoor areas would be great for the summer.

The cottage is gorgeous and so luxurious. The design is well thought out and great for a big party. With such large communal spaces it's made for a big group of family or friends. Only downside was the amount fo cobwebs we found. Otherwise the place was lovely!

    Our stay September, 2019

We stayed for a week at Lower Trevorder Barn and found the stay relaxing the position and setting were lovely and made good use of the games room. We only had a few little niggles the main one was lack of hot water if you wanted a lazy morning or a shower in the middle of the day and although we appreciate the eco functions thought one of the bathrooms should have an electric shower. The second niggle was lack of clothes storage the main two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms had lovely big wardrobes but the two twin rooms that shared a bathroom only one had a hanging rail and no shelf or any place to put toiletries in the bathroom. Also we thought cleaning could be improved we found many places a bit dusty and soft furnishings throws cushions etc felt like they were a bit stale although all the bedding and sheets were pristine. Over all we had a great holiday and gladly would return .

This is a well kitted out, modern barn conversion. Very comfortable and spacious for our large group of 8. The kids enjoyed the shared games room especially on wet days. Good wi fi. Small range of books, magazines, DVDs and CDs available - meant we could enjoy a quiet day in. BBQ available too. Really warm building - I think it's an eco-build too - and has a wood burner but we didn't need it. Location-wise it's a bit off the beaten track so be prepared to drive to get anywhere. That said, it's a nice location if you want some peace and tranquility, fresh air and views of green countryside. In the evening, minimal light pollution around so could enjoy the views of the night sky from the balcony. Beaches are about 25-40 minutes drive away depending on whether you head to south or north coasts respectively. Bodmin moor right on your doorstep. Recommend visits to Lanhydrock, Golitha Falls and Minions for nearby walks. Eden Project not far away either. We also enjoyed walking up to the village hall in Mount on Friday for a cuppa, meet the locals and getting some local produce. Large ASDA 10-15 minute drive away in Bodmin so grocery shopping not a problem. No nearby pubs though but wasn't an issue for us. So overall, a comfy home away from home, great as getaway from the crowds.

a magnificent restoration of an old barn retaining some of the character whilst creating a very modern living environment with great "green" credentials. The barn is quiet, warm and very fit for purpose, and the quality of the fixtures and fittings is great. Very clean and nicely set up for our stay, including a complimentary cream tea. The location is good for both north and south coast locations, and particularly good for visiting Lanhydrock. WiFi and internet are both good, but mobile phone signal is a poor. Nearest facilities (the Halfway House Inn) are 2 miles away, and you will need to go to Bodmin for a supermarket.
