This superb family home is set in a great location, just a few minutes’ walk from the beautiful Widemouth Bay. Set on a quiet road, the property is just 400 yards from a sandy surfing beach. All on one level, with a large, enclosed rear garden and private parking, this house is a great choice for both families or friends. Spend the evenings relaxing in the lovely garden, or stroll to the local family pub, which offers good food.
A 3 mile drive along the scenic coastal route brings you to Bude, a small town with much to offer all year round. Bude has an impressive 18 hole golf course, an indoor swimming pool, shops, restaurants, horse riding, and ten pin bowling. Enjoy leisurely walks along the canal, where you can also fish, birdwatch or enjoy a ride on a rowing boat. There are many opportunities for walking, both along the coast and on nearby Bodmin Moor.
While staying at Longstone, guests benefit from shared use of the facilities at the nearby Quinceborough Farm, located ¾ mile away. Here, there are opportunities to feed the animals around the owners’ farmyard, swim in the outdoor heated swimming pool and enjoy a game of tennis. Children can access the shared play area, and guests of all ages will enjoy the variety of games in the games room. Beach 400 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
Excellent location, approx 400 yards walk to dog friendly Blackrock beach and you can see the sea from the bottom of the road. We walked to the beach mostly although there is a car park at Blackrock which I believe charges £2:00 all day. Cottage was located in a very quiet residential road with a secure grassed back garden for our dog ,although you had to go through the garage to get to it. The biggest plus is the location, being near to the beach and the property is very quiet, but there are a couple of minuses, the cottage layout is quirky, see access to the garden above, and the decoration is a little dated. It seems to have it's original cupboards for example, which are a bit high to reach if you're not tall. The microwave is on top of the fridge and therefore above head height, might be an safety issue as you could spill the contents of your meals on yourself or others! I would also suggest they maybe get a new washing machine as the seal was extremely black and I wouldn't recommend using it. If you are taking your dog with you I would suggest you take a torch as the road only has two street lights which makes it quite dark and the pavement and road is quite uneven. Probably not so much of a problem in the summer months?
Great location. Stayed last year but found level of cleanliness had deteriorated significantly in the year.
What a fantastic holiday. Brilliant accommodation. Lovely owners made us feel very at home. Would definitely go back. Thank you Pat and Alistair
We had a lovely stay at the bungalow which had everything we needed and was in an excellent location with the cafes at Widemouth and Blackrock close by and pubs in walking distance. Our dog loved the garden which is secure and a great size to run about in. All in all a great stay and would definitely book again.
Great little place. Short walk to the beach. Good facilities. Would have loved it more if there was a bit of local information like a folder with where to eat, shop etc. Leaflets were of use in days out. Thank you for a fab week.
Our stay February, 2020
A lovely welcoming place, the cottage much nicer than it appears in the photos on web. The garden is fabulous, bedrooms are clean and the kitchen has everything that we needed for our stay. Me and my family enjoyed our one week break on longstone cottage, will absolutely book again in summer
