Beautifully converted from a Victorian barn, these two cottages are situated off a quiet lane close to the hamlet of Treggidden, which is centrally located on the famous Lizard Peninsula. Furnished and equipped to a high standard, they adjoin one another and nestle amidst 14 acres of grass and woodland with a small stream forming the southern boundary. Just 10 miles from Helston and 23 miles from Falmouth, this area of Cornwall is well known for its wealth of wildlife, many NT gardens, sheltered sandy beaches and romantic coves. The tranquil wooded coastline running up to the Helford Estuary offers some of the most spectacular walks in the south-west. The properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 8 guests.
The owners live with their dogs on the farm, which is run as a retirement hobby. In addition to horses grazing the land there are chickens and ducks with an O guage garden railway in the orchard.
Cottage OK but slightly too remote.
The cottage was lovely and the owner very helpful, the directions to get there were not great especially if you arrive in the dark. Some of the cleaning was to questioned but it was comfortable and great for touring around.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Little courtyard was perfect to sit out on and for the children to play. Hosts were very welcoming and the added touch of fresh local milk and eggs was a thoughtful extra. Location is perfect for a quiet getaway and not too far from local attractions like Flambards.
Relaxing quiet cottage which we would recommend
We had a great time here being woken up by the rooster. An idyllic farm break off the beaten track . The only problems were the phone signal and internet access . I think the router needs to be stronger to get through the thick walls of the cottage. Lovely owners fresh eggs. You may need to watch the cows as you drive to the property. But a great experience.
Our stay October, 2019
Lovely cottage and Jennifer, the host, is friendly. It is ideal if you want a quiet break but you do need a car. The cottage has just about everything you could need, although it has an interesting layout. The only really critical thing I would say is that it could do with a deep clean. Having said that, myself, my mother and my assistance dog had a good holiday at Jemima Cottage.
