This spacious, semi-detached holiday property, located in an elevated position, with breathtaking views across the beautiful long sandy beach of Praa Sands and out to Mount Bay. There is a shared footpath to the family friendly sandy beach which has lifeguards on patrol during the summer months and is also enjoyed by surfers. For walks the Cornish Coastal footpath passes the property. Nearby are St Michael’s Mount, Marazion, Praa Sands golf course, Flambards at Helston, sailing, surfing and great coastal walks. Visit the quaint fishing harbour of Newlyn and Mousehole. Heading in land, the countryside offers wide open moorland, rolling hillsides and stunning granite headlands. Ideal for those who want to escape the crowds. Other attractions include the busy town of Penzance with its long promenade and Lido, restaurants, bars and summer market at Porthleven. No matter what you are looking for in a holiday, Cornwall has something to offer and boasts a mild temperate climate all year round. Beach 500 yards. Shop and pub ¼ mile, restaurant 1 mile.
The cottage was in an excellent position not only having a stunning view over Praa sands but also well positioned between Penzance and Helston. We were lucky with the weather so spent a lot of time on the balcony. However I do feel the property could do with some TLC being spent on it. The door handles were nearly all loose, some of the windows were misted and the garden is very overgrown, in fact the pampas grass is encroaching on the view. The house was very clean and well equipped except for the fact that only one of the bedrooms had a wardrobe which was very annoying.
Great cottage, superb location. All the equipment you might want/need. Overly quirky feel, plenty of space/rooms.
Fantastic views from the house
The cottage is lovely with plenty of space. 4 downstairs room so it was easy to spread out. The location is private and the view is stunning. A fair walk to get to the beach but not excessive. Very quiet which was lovely and peaceful. A really good holiday which could only have been improved if the weather was a bit warmer. Nothing can be done about that unfortunately. The cottage was nice and clean and everything there we needed. The beach is nice and clean and the Sandsbar serves good beers and ciders and though we only ate there once the food was excellent. I would certainly recommend it for a peaceful holiday.
Great place for a quiet & relaxing holiday
Fantastic location with great view across the bay. Quietly located at end of a private unmade road. House is well equipped and comfortable. Good value in early season
Our stay January, 2020
We chose the house based on location (for coast paths, beach, and near family), and it was spot on for that. The house itself (space/layout/etc) was better than we expected, and would recommend the owners to do more to highlight this as a feature of the property. Good lounge, dining room, books, games, etc. Comfy beds and ample storage. It's an old property, however, and hasn't been rewired in a while, so power sockets were limited in number and location. The kitchen was well appointed, everything we needed was present. However, here the cleanliness was a bit of an issue - worst case example was that the gravy jug had the remains of a previous occupants gravy inside it. The place had obviously been unused a while, as kitchen cupboards had a general mustiness to them. We put everything we planned to use through the dishwasher first. We'll certain consider renting the property again.
