Had a fantastic first family holiday here with our infant son. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Perfect new year break. So peaceful. Such a comfortable bed, hot shower, new bathroom, cosy log burner, well equipped and small kitchen, approachable but not intrusive owner Kate, very helpful. Make sure you take your slippers as cold, but authentic, floor downstairs! We will return.

Very comfortable and idle with my dogs. Only problem was the wet weather to be expected in November.

Katie and her dog Molly gave us a very friendly welcome, and a cream tea on arrival.Although "out in the sticks" the cottage was very comfortable but a bit cold in the evenings.

Lovely place to stay, the owner made us feel very welcome and the cream teas were a nice touch. The cottage is lovely and cosy and it's location is excellent for visiting both sides of Cornwall. We really enjoyed our holiday here.

  • Marietta - Chobham, Surrey 25th July 2019

    Our stay July, 2019

We had a fabulous holiday with our two dogs. There was a tiny little garden which was very useful for the dogs and a lovely place to sit with a cup of coffee overlooking a field and so quiet. The owner, Kate, was very welcoming. The situation was excellent within easy walking distance of the shop and pub, on the edge of Bodmin Moor and a fairly short drive to the beach. Nearly all the pubs are dog friendly. We would definitely book again.

Set in a beautiful location within a 5 minute to the local shop and pub where the food was excellent. A great base to visit the different beaches where our two Spaniels loved visiting.

  • Annette - Bury St Edmunds 26th May 2019

    Our stay May, 2019

As we had 2 small dogs, could have done with a bit of garden for them. The kitchen is TINY, but equipped well enough just for 2 of us. Logs for fire handy as cold in the evenings, probably due to thick stone walls. Shower lush.

Wonderful few days at this beautiful cottage, Kate is a lovely host, nothing too much trouble, a lovely cream tea and flowers awaited us on our arrival and Molly the dog is adorable. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will not hesitate to go back.

We didn't actually end up staying in High View - the owner contacted us to say the couple she had in there immediately before us wanted to stay on, so she asked if we would mind staying in The Roost instead. We had stayed at High View previously, and knew it was a lovely little cottage, but I knew The Roost was a luxury property, so we were more than happy to swap, especially as there was no extra charge. The Roost was absolutely gorgeous, with underfloor heating, a comfortable king size bed and a really lovely bathroom. The kitchen and living room were open plan, with a vaulted ceiling and full length windows with a fantastic view over the surrounding countryside. It was a fantastic couple of days-the owner was lovely, and we enjoyed the cream tea she kindly left for us! I thoroughly recommend both The Roost and High View, but for a touch of luxury, book The Roost, you won't regret it!
