If you want a rural retreat with absolute peace and tranquillity, this destination is ideal for you. Chywood Barn has its own particular charm and is much loved by visitors from all over the UK and continent. It is very traditional but with all the home comforts.
Chywood Barn is a detached old granite stable that was converted many years ago and modernised by the present owners. It is open plan with a full size kitchen, dining area and living room. The accommodation nestles under a beamed cathedral ceiling with a wood burner. Upstairs, a galleried double bedroom, compact en-suite shower room and French doors giving access to your own entirely private garden. The property is fully equipped with everything you need to make your holiday absolutely first rate.
Located between both coasts and only 3 miles from the ancient market town of Helston, and the same distance from the bustling fishing port of Porthleven, the property is in a valley at the end of a private road, set in two acres of garden to explore with tall trees, a lake and a family of ducks. Well served by popular public footpaths right on the doorstep, Chywood has been called a hidden gem by many of its visitors.
Chywood Barn is one of two holiday properties at this location. The owner’s farmhouse is nearby and they are on hand to help with anything you may need. Although there is a proximity to all the properties, each opens onto a large shared courtyard, no-one is overlooked thus ensuring plenty of privacy, peace and quiet and the perfect setting for your holiday. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
Beautiful property with everything you could possibly need.
Our stay July, 2019
This holiday cottage is tucked away in a very peaceful spot, but near and its easy to assess some wonderful places on the Lizard and West of Cornwall. Our hosts were very kind and thoughtful, providing the essentials at the start of the holiday. Chris and Andrew were attentive without being intrusive and when our car broke down, they were very helpful which we really appreciated. It was good having a dishwasher, though I would have preferred a washing machine, as we do a lot of walking and clothes got rather dusty. We had superb weather and had a really relaxing time.
