This beautifully appointed, converted barn sits amongst a quiet courtyard of cottages on the owner’s 150 acre working farm. With high, pitched ceilings, exposed rafters and inglenook with original clone oven, it is full of charm and character. The picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey, 4 miles, with many restaurants, shops and antique shops. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, 2 miles. Eden Project, 10 miles. The sandy beach of Pentewan is 3 miles. The busy cathedral city of Truro around 10 miles. Golf, fishing, sailing and riding are available nearby. Shop and pub 1½ miles.
The Old Wash House is a delightful homely Cottage in Cornwall which we rented for a week's breakaway. We both thoughrly enjoyed our stay and it is a wonderful cosy cottage with a log burner for relaxing cosy evenings. We loved the Old Wash House Cottage and will recommend it to our family and friends as a fantastic break away location. Thank you to Michael; His lovely wife and of course dad Jeffrey whom all were extremely friendly and helpful when necessary. Ronan & Henning xx
The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Friendly and helpful hosts. Well located for many towns and attractions such as Heligan, Mevagissey, Fowey and Falmouth. Lovely beach at Porthpean a short drive away. Two large supermakets in St Austell.
The cottage was clean, comfortable and spacious. Its a bit off the beaten track being part of a farm but that added to the peace and quiet .There was everything there that we needed. Its a good 10/ 15 minute drive to the local supermarket and about the same down to Mevagissy. We had a warm welcome from the owners on arrival. My only criticism , and this is personal choice, the bed was a little too uncomfortable for me , as was the pillows. We also found the shower cubicle door a little difficult to get out off as it doesn't open too wide but the bathroom was lovely otherwise. The extra touches of milk, eggs and beautiful flowers was an added bonus. There was also tea/coffee and sugar supplied plus dishwasher / washer tablets too. We also received an unexpected gift of a bottle of wine and card as we had just got married. Overall an enjoyable stay and i would recommend " The old Wash House " .
Outstanding accommodation from a converted wash house with original features. Owners all very welcoming & accommodating. Holiday was definitely too short as in a superbly lovely area and high standard accommodation.
Fantastic place to stay very friendly people
