Refurbished in 2018, and set on the unspoilt Lizard Peninsula, this hoilday property forms part of a former fine Edwardian hotel. It enjoys an outstanding location on Chynhalls Point, with magnificent views out to sea. Amid large, attractive gardens and grounds, the complex enjoys its own sandy beach and outdoor tennis court. You can enjoy wonderful coastal walks in this beautiful, peaceful area which is protected by the National Trust. A path leads down to the fishing village of Coverack, with its shops, restaurant and pub. Here you can enjoy sandy and shingle beaches, deep sea fishing and windsurfing lessons, all within ½ mile. Visit Roskillys Farm, famed for their cream and ice cream, or visit Goonhilly satellite station, 3 miles. The Mullion 18-hole golf course is 9 miles away, and there are plenty of coves and beaches within easy reach. An excellent site for bird watching and rare wild flowers. The apartments have been superbly converted to provide a good standard of holiday accommodation, with the properties having spectacular sea views, they are ideal for couples and families alike. This is a well-placed holiday base from which to explore. Pub within 1 mile.
We stayed in Tamarisk for a week in September. We enjoyed our visit and the way in which the apartment was so well equipped. Little touches like a pint of milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and biscuits left for us mean a great deal when you arrive after a long drive. We had in fact brought everything we needed as previous experiences with self catering accommodation have required an uplift of my kitchen cupboards or a very expensive first shop in the locality as soon as we arrived. One such stay needed us to bring toilet rolls!! Not so Tamarisk - there was salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar, kitchen rolls, cling film, tin foil, washing up liquid, tea towels etc all provided. Some people may wonder why I am listing this but when you are heading off it is the little things like this which you need. They also supply a hairdryer. The apartment itself was beautifully presented as regards decor - nice paintings, furniture in a Cornish Coast theme. It is obviously an old building and there are some cracks in the walls and damage to skirtings etc but it was certainly very clean. The carpet gave us some misgivings at first as hard floors would have appeared more serviceable but presumably the noise issues in apartments prevent replacing the carpet - there was in any event a very good hoover in the cupboard. When we arrived we thought the fridge seemed quite small if there was a family staying but a quick look around the corner revealed another fridge and freezer. The beds are very comfortable and both they and the towels (of which there were plenty) were of excellent quality. One previous reviewer mentioned that there was nowhere to dry beach towels and this is true - I brought a small airer from home but this is perhaps something the owner might consider investing in. All in all we considered Tamarisk a very enjoyable experience
Wife, sister-in-law (from USA) myself and dog 'Benji' visited. This is a stunning location. On top of cliff which means that, to get to local amenities, lots of walking some involving steep gradients. Private and village beaches are good but only available for limited times each day dependent on tides. The property is located in its own gardens which are extensive, with its own tennis court. We will certainly consider going back to the area. Village has limited amenities, especially shopping, but Sainsbury have a stall within 10 miles. Village shop does supply essentials. Good café and the restaurant located in the old Life Boat building is good. My wife and her sister are Japanese, and not easy to please but both enjoyed the holiday.
Well I have serious holiday blues and I’m missing the truly amazing views. We had the best week, the apartment is comfy and the views are spectacular, the place is so quiet and in a perfect area to explore. They need to add a clothes airer to dry all of our wet towels after days at the beach but other than that perfect. The toys and games were a bonus in a cupboard and my daughter and I spent lots of time playing dominoes. The beach at the bottom is just lush and perfect for an evening bbq xx see you again, same time next year
Fabulous location. Stunning views from the apartment. Very comfortable, clean and spacious.
Our stay September, 2019
It has to be the best equip place we have ever stayed. The only thing it seemed to lack was a lemon squeezer ! Still missing the view.
