The sandy, sheltered Porth beach is only a short walk away and is one of Newquay’s finest, and with a vast expanse of sand and plenty of rock pools at low tide, it is perfect for a family day at the beach and it is lifeguarded during the summer months. To the east of the beach you’ll find Porth Island, featuring evidence of an iron age settlement, and accessible only via a narrow foot bridge. Head up the hill by car or walk the beautiful coastal path and the next area you arrive at is Watergate Bay, a large beach with amazing views. Newquay has lots to offer for everyone, including shopping, a Sea Life Centre, a leisure centre, lovely parks and gardens, golf and tennis, and a cinema, as well as the apparent surf culture surrounding you. This is a relaxed, easy going town where the main emphasis is beach life. Beach ½ mile. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
