This detached timber eco lodge provides the perfect base to explore the north Cornish coastline and its many fabulous beaches, coves and dramatic cliff top walks. Snowy Owl Lodge is within the grounds of the Cornish Birds of Prey Centre, which has coarse fishing lakes and regular falconry displays . Being close to both Newquay and Padstow there is plenty to see and do, from gourmet restaurants, among them Rick Steins restaurant, and artisan cafés and bistros to surf schools, sea fishing, cycling along the beautiful Camel Trail, to just plain lazing around on some of the areas best beaches.
Just minutes away is a spa for the ultimate pampering experience, along with a surf simulator and a restaurant run by an award winning chef. Several National Trust properties and gardens warrant a visit nearby, with the now famous Eden Project a 30-minute drive, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan within reach. Local nearby activities include surfing, tennis, golf and fishing.
The very different south coast is also easily reached and provides an alternative view of the Cornish countryside and coastline. It has a more subtropical climate with many secret coves and fishing villages to be explored, and Truro the capital has a theatre, cinemas and shopping galore - a great day out for all. Beach 5 miles. Shop and pub 3 miles, restaurant ½ mile.
We had a lovely holiday, the accommodation was lovely. The only issue was the lodges were right on a main road and there wasn’t anywhere to walk the dogs.
Fantastic stay in Snowy owl lodge. Perfectly located and 15 minutes drive from the majority of essentials. Would highly recommend and hoping to get ourselves back as soon as possible. Home from home without a doubt. Fantastic to hear a familiar accent for us northerners too! Thank you
It was perfect and I took my two children and they loved it to.... can’t recommend it enough. 11/10
Overall a nice lodge but on arrival some issues with hygiene, previous customers underwear left in drawers as well as a half drank can of pop left on the table and opened food left in cupboard- used razor left in shower. The main bathroom also had a damp smell which had soaked into the towels which needed to be rewashed. The windows and French doors very dirty and cobwebby spoiling the views. It would benefit from the garden area been enclosed so you could let the dog out safely somewhere other than the decked area. Aside from this a great location to explore Cornwall and comfortable furnishings.
Snowy owl lodge was a lovely place to stay 2 fishing ponds to the rear of the lodge lovely walks with the dogs very secure place to stay we had lovely time there we are thinking about going back next year
We had an amazing time . Beautiful lodge . Lovely walks on the beaches .
Our stay September, 2019
Was our second visit, unfortunately we picked the wettest week this September so went home a bit earlier. We still enjoyed our stay and went to our favourite beach at Hayden bay, and padstow.
