With lovely sea views overlooking Pendeen Watch lighthouse, this delightful converted barn is just off the coastal path on the edge of the village which lies between St Just and St Ives. The cosy detached accommodation benefits from slate floor with underfloor heating, stable door to living room, high spec kitchen/dining room with bi-fold doors to the well-stocked patio garden with raised beds, sitting area, barbecue and sea views. The first floor sitting room has floor to ceiling windows making the most of the stunning views. Nearby are the sandy beaches of Portherras Cove, Sennen, the mining heritage at Geevor Tin Mine, Lands End, Tate Gallery at St Ives, and Penzance. The TV series of ’Poldark’ was filmed locally. The local village has a pub and shop, with easy access to the rugged local coastline. Shop ¼ mile. Two pubs and cafe in the village. It’s advisable to bring a torch with you during the winter months.
Absolutely stunning cottage. I can't recommend it highly enough. Everything you could possibly need in the well equipped kitchen. Stunning views of the Atlantic ocean and Pendeen Lighthouse. Strong Wifi. Would love to stay again.
The cottage was far better than portrayed in the photos on the website. Has been finished to a high standard. Excellent location for the coast path. The cottage was perfect for our mid week break. The ceilings are low upstairs so banging your head a few times when you first arrive is normal I gather. There are some trip hazards at bottom of stairs to be wary of. Peace assured as no phone signal. WiFi a bonus and would definitely book again.
What a delightful place to stay! It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet close enough to amenities without being too remote. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and found everything we needed and more in this well thought out holiday cottage. The upstairs room was our favourite spot, and we spend many hours relaxing and enjoying the view.
The cottage was spotlessly clean on our arrival and the cream tea was a delicious welcome. The kitchen dining area was well designed and spacious and bathroom facilities were good, though the shower entrance is quite narrow and may be restrictive for a larger person. We didn't use the downstairs sitting room, as, being a cottage, it was quite dark and we choose not to watch TV on holiday. The upstairs sitting area with amazing window provided a stunning and ever changing view which was wonderful. The bedroom was lovely with comfy bed. The outside space was good, well enclosed for our dog , with a sea view across fields. Great spot for breakfast! I loved the attention to detail of the interior design features and colours chosen were a refreshing change from the usual blue and white seaside themes. The tonal greens and greys seemed to emanate from the landscape, complemented by a collection of local artwork. Loved every minute at the Mini Barn and did not want to leave!
The barn was renovated to a very high standard and the bed was very comfortable. Stunning views from upstairs sitting room. We had a wonderful relaxing break at this cottage.
The barn was very clean and well percented but for us it was not the one as there were to many steps as we are both quite eldly.
It was a pleasant enough place, but if you're over five foot ten, and fifteen stone it's not ideal. Found myself banging into steps and eaves. I felt it was a little small. The photo's give the impression it is a lot bigger.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at mini barn. The view from the upstairs window was amazing and the furnishings and and arts and crafts gave the barn a wonderful homely feel. Everything was good quality, we never found ourselves short of anything when cooking as everything was supplied. The scones with jam and clotted cream left for arrival were delicious. I was just sorry we had to leave early due to a family emergency. A lovely cottage for a couple, would highly recommend mini barn if you want to be a bit more out in the wilder part of Cornwall.
Mini Barn is stylish and comfortable. It is very well equipped and has stunning views over the sea. It is the perfect place for a couple (who are not too tall! and their dog) to stay.
Lovely cottage great location. Coastal walks nearby. Great if you are taking your dog.
Great little cottage. Very well equipped with attention paid to colours and accessories. Kitchen equipment excellent. Comfy bed. Private garden. Parking ok. Restricted headroom in upstairs lounge area got a bit tiresome. We’d rearrange the downstairs tv area as that lacked a bit of comfort and convenience. However, a great place and we enjoyed our stay there
Our stay February, 2020
Perfect place in every way - comfort, location, equipment. Fab kitchen, comfy living room and the upstairs with huge picture window was amazing! Could sit there for hours watching the landscape change with the weather - stunning views. Great local walks on the doorstep and lots of local attractions within short driving distance. A very happy, relaxed and chilled week - just what I needed. I’ve already booked again.
