The surfing town of Newquay with its seven beaches is just minutes away with its many attractions which include a zoo, Sea Life Centre, Creally Adventure Park, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, leisure centre, golf course, pitch and putt course, parks and gardens. Newquay has many restaurants, cafés and shops as well as beaches and dramatic cliff top walks. With its beaches comes surf and surf schools, so you can try your hand at this exhilarating sport. Truro, the capital of Cornwall, is easily reached and is a must to explore the narrow cobbled streets and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, museum, cinema and theatre for an alternative day or evening out. Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s food empire is a must visit for all the family. Wander around the narrow streets that all lead to the working harbour and enjoy the ambience provided by this traditional, working fishing village. This stretch of coastline is dotted with quiet beaches, secluded coves and has a rich history of smuggling. There are many National Trust houses and gardens, such as Trerice Manor, Lanhydrock House, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, all within easy reach of these lovely holiday cottages.
