This property is ideal for couples and small families looking for a spot of peaceful rural life. Friendly dogs are welcome. Converted from a stone stable, this detached holiday cottage situated in the owner’s grounds, has a homely, cosy interior with reclining leather sofa and chairs and is set in an elevated position with stunning panoramic views of rolling fields and fir forests with the River Inny meandering through the valley below. Set midway between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, it is just five miles south of the historic town of Launceston with its iconic medieval castle set high on a hill. The Stable has its own cobbled south-facing courtyard with lawned garden which is shared with the friendly owners who live next door. Shop 2 miles, pub/restaurant 1 mile.
Lovely place, very clean and comfortable. Out in the sticks which is what we wanted
Had a fabulous holiday, thank you
Fantastic location for us,isolated with beautiful uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside ,a lovely surprise as this wasn't apparent from the photo of the property.Would love to go back.Great for dogs.Owners live next door ,there if need be but not intrusive .
Very close proximity to the owners property, but we were afforded plenty of privacy whilst knowing any assistance would be close at hand if needed. Really friendly, warm welcome to this well equipped and surprisingly spacious cottage. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all.
most relaxing few days everything you needed was to hand, owners were very helpful and friendly home from home the birds were a delight to watch , lovely to be able to take well behaved dogs of which they had treats left for them as well. will keep in mind to go again.
Very dated inside ! Upon using the upstairs bathroom we found hair in the plug hole in the bath & spiders webs around the ceiling & light fitting ! Over attentive owners who didn’t leave us alone on our first day to the point of being nosey & offensive ! ...they went away on holiday the next day thank goodness The area was stunning , along with the views over the valley of Dartmoor & Bodmin moor ! Overall , not a good experience & I would recommend the area but not the cottage I’m afraid to say ! I will not be returning to the stables cottage again !!
Our stay September, 2019
A very warm welcome from the owners. Beautiful location and good value for money. Mattresses in the twin room were a bit thin/soft which is a consideration if (like me) you can have back trouble. It was peaceful and a good location for visiting both south and north Cornwall coasts. Newquay was our best day out.
