This superb mid-century modern detached family bungalow is set within large gardens in Feock, a waterside local secret 10 mins from Truro. Feock is perfectly positioned to explore both North and South Cornish coasts and The Palm House has stunning south-facing views across the Fal Estuary from sunrise till sunset. The property is easily accessed from the road and has plenty of parking.
On arrival you enter a bright entrance hall with the living room to one side and the dining room to the other, both with the same idyllic views across the water. The living room is a great family space with a lovely mantelpiece and wood burner, comfy sofas and a Smart TV. The dining room has the best view of the palm and olive trees and is a great room with patio doors opening onto the garden. The spacious kitchen which also has a panoramic view of the water is fitted to a modern style. Next to the kitchen is the useful utility room, an ideal room to use for coats or dirty boots. There are a few steps leading down to the double garage which can be used for storing wetsuits, surfboards kayaks or even a small boat! There is also the use of the table tennis table and a second fridge/freezer ideal for entertaining and BBQ needs. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor level set to the rear of the property with garden views. The first has a super kingsize bed and fitted wardrobes and the second fitted wardrobe and a kingsize bed; the third is a single bedroom. Set between the bedrooms is a luxury family bathroom with an oval bath and separate shower. The master bedroom is located above the garage a few steps up from the kitchen it has its own balcony with expansive views towards Carrick Roads and has a modern style en-suite shower room. The extensive gardens surround the property providing plenty of seating areas to either take in the view or sunbathe. The large front terrace area has three different seating areas that give the best views. The second patio to the side is the ideal spot for relaxing on sun loungers to read a book or enjoy the agapanthus and eucalyptus tree. The children can enjoy the large lawn area great for games or perhaps make use of the BBQ area at the top of the garden with panoramic views.
A short walk from the property leads you to Penpol boatyard where there is a slipway if you chose to bring a boat. This is also a great place to access the water for paddle boards or kayaks. Beyond the boatyard you’ll find Trolver beach and the public footpath at the bottom of the drive leads to Feock playground and passes by a field of Alpaca and Shire Horses.
A picture book village Feock is on the Carrick Roads part of the Fal Estuary just 10 minutes from Truro and 20 minutes from Falmouth’s Maritime Museum and the surfing beaches of St Agnes and Perranporth. The 10-minute crossing on the King Harry Ferry will get you to the Roseland - St. Mawes and Portscatho - within 30 minutes and is one of the few remaining car and passenger chain ferries in the UK. Nearby is the 17th century Pandora Inn on Restronguet Creek which can be reached by car or by boat available from Loe Beach Sailing School. On the edge of Feock is the National Trust gardens of Trelissick with beautiful, landscaped gardens featuring Hydrangeas, Rhododendrons, Camellias, 500 acres of parkland and riverside woods overlooking the River Fal. A brisk walk along the old tram road from the house will lead you along the estuary to Devoran, perfectly flat for a morning run, where you will find the Coast-to-Coast Cycle path to Portreath.
