Only a 250 yard walk from the beautiful sandy beach of Whitesand Bay, this charming little row of two delightful and comfortably furnished holiday cottages commands magnificent views over the bay and Sennen Cove. On a quiet lane leading only to the cliffs, they have been very tastefully converted from a spacious Victorian house and are stunningly set in several acres of shared natural grounds; home to a wonderful variety of wildlife which can easily be seen from the steep beach path and the cottages themselves.
The beach at Whitesand is magnificent; a splendid mile of sand which has been awarded Blue Flag status and is excellent for surfing . Sennen Cove, ½ mile, is a picturesque little fishing village looking out over the bay. It offers shops, pub, restaurants, even a lifeboat station, all within walking distance. There are some beautiful walks along the coast towards Cape Cornwall in one direction, and beyond Land’s End in the other.
The famous outdoor Minack Theatre is only 3 miles away and Penzance, 7 miles, boasts a mainline station, shops, inns, swimming-pool, sailing and tennis. There is a golf course at St Just, 4 miles, and facilities for squash and badminton are available locally. Picturesque St Ives is 15 miles away along the spectacular north coast. The Carn Towan cottages are perfectly positioned for enjoying a Cornish holiday – and are cosily heated throughout, with double glazing, making them ideal for all-year-round breaks. Shops ½ mile.
The properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 9 guests.
Last year we stayed there it was lovely this year we found a few issues, light in bathroom didn't work someone reported it in September but not repaired,a couple of door handles hanging off and hoover not much use also shower which was only trickling water out of it.Hopefullythe owner will get these issues sorted as it is a lovely place otherwise.
Excellent location. Been before and love the area and the apartment.
This Cottage Offer's The Best Sea-View..in Cornwall The Cottage is Basic..But Suits Our Needs..And is Easy From There To View Other Amazing Places in Cornwall.
Our third stay and we will definitely be back. This cottage is just perfect and the view is stunning.
It totally depends what you look for in a holiday.... If you love the beach, views and are outdoor people this is just amazing! We are a young family with 2 young children, 7 and 4. Hands down this is the best location we've ever stayed at on holiday... A short hilly, but totally manageable walk to one of the best beaches in Cornwall. We were there first thing in the morning and there again in the evening and it was amazing. The beach being so close made our holiday. The hilly walk is definitely not for pushchairs or those who find walking tricky. It's a very clean cottage, with everything you need at a basic level. It's cosy, it's traditional. We loved the touches such as the scones and wine on arrival and the shed with beach things to use. That was so helpful and kind. Towels and bedding were supplied and basic cleaning products. You have to be totally open minded to the fact that it is a traditional cottage with no modern features but then that's the appeal in a way. There is a lovely pub down the road The First and Last Inn... Lovely food! The area is very quiet with nothing around until Newlyn and Penzance, so bear in mind that you will need to travel around if you have young children to visit places, unless you stay on the beach the whole time, which in good weather is ideal! The photographs online are very true to life. A fair representation. I would just say to consider the area more than the cottage... It is a bit more out in the sticks than other places in Cornwall... Which for us wasn't a problem... Just research the area for your interests before booking.
Cottage in a great location and my son 18 and friend had a great time surfing. Beautiful views. Cottage had all amenities but was a little tired around the edges particularly door edges could be cleaned, windows very smeared and bathroom grouting needs to be replaced. However we had a fabulous week and would recommend.
Fabulous location and lovely cottage. Only downfall was it could do with a little TLC spent on furnishings and upkeep as some were tired and grubby looking. Overall though a really lovely place.
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. In my opinion cottage in need of a little updating and TLC - nothing that affected our stay. Great that it welcomes pets!!
Great cottage, excellent location, dog friendly, nothing major but some aspects a bit tired and could do with a bit of updating, but best location and view I’ve ever had!
Our stay January, 2020
