Churchtown Cottage is a traditional Cornish cottage in the quaint village of Cubert which is dominated by the beautiful 14th-century church, 4¾ miles from Newquay. Due the age of the cottage, beware of the low ceiling into the property and a low ceiling when you come down the stairs, the rest of the property is not a problem. The owner has renovated the cottage but has kept the original features, such as exposed stone walls, original slate flooring and a fireplace with wood burner. Outside there is a covered area to sit and read on or have your morning coffee, and a larger table for al fresco dining on the patio.
Opposite the magnificent church are fields ideal for dog walking and letting children run around, and on the main road is a great fish and chip shop, a bakery with a café, a shop and post office. There is a local pub with an impressive reputation, offering a variety of dishes to suit all tastes just a mile away.
Surrounded by the beautiful beaches of Crantock, Holywell Bay and Polly Joke, you do not need to travel far to get to the coast. For surfing, the best beach is Fistral at Newquay, Perranporth is also in close proximity. After a day at the beach, wash away the sand under the outdoor heated shower, and there is ample room for wetsuits, body boards etc. in the garden.
There is so much to do here. It is a great place for families with children, people with dogs, walkers and those that want to enjoy exploring the area. If you are looking for attractions there is Newquay Zoo, Blue Reef Aquarium, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, Pennywell Farm and Newquay mystery trail, the list goes on. If you prefer, why not walk along the Cornish coast paths admiring the rugged views, or explore the Eden Project at Par? After a busy day, come back and chill in the private courtyard and admire the most amazing night skies.
